Samsung already has GDDR6 memories ready for the new graphics cards

Samsung already has the new GDDR6 memories ready, destined for high-end graphics cards for this year, which have renewed features and speeds, to offer the best possible performance.

The memories for the graphic cards are essential for the performance of the same at the time of gaming and also, for the mining of cryptocurrencies. Samsung has incorporated GDDR6 memory into its catalog, which will come in capacities of 8GB and 16GB, which will start from a speed of 12Gbps and may reach up to 18Gbps. This represents a significant leap in the capacity of GDDR5 memories, which are 1GB per module and reach speeds of up to 9Gbps.

The door is opened to new graphics cards, which will be characterized by having a greater amount of memory and interconnection speed, higher than the current ones. This at the moment can only be seen with the HBM2 memories, but these have a serious problem and that is that the manufacturing cost is higher than the GDDR6, which is where these latest memories win, in price and in ease of manufacture.

Currently, we can find the GDDR5X, slightly improved memories with respect to the GDDR5, but that do not suppose as great a leap, as the GDDR6 memories. The GDDR5X have only reached 12Gbps, while the GDDR6 is going to 18Gbps per second, in the case of the interface of Samsung memories. Unknown new NVIDIA graphics cards, whether based on the Volta architecture or the Ampere architecture, will implement these new memories. It is possible that these graphics cards, if they come out at a good price and the consumption is good, fly off the shelves, for the mining of cryptocurrencies.
