Square Enix is already thinking about the future of Kingdom Hearts. He insists that one will come to us surprisingly soon.
The Japanese company Square Enix took the last year, after a long time of waiting and expectation, Kingdom Hearts III. It was not the round launch that fans expected but luckily for them, it is not the end of the franchise. Because there are still several games left.

Yesterday, a new update was released for Kingdom Hearts III on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, preparing it to receive the Re:Mind DLC , which allows players to control more characters and includes several additional bosses. This pack transforms the game into the Final Mix version, the extended version that was previously only available on a second disc that had to be purchased separately.
But… what does the franchise hold? Well, we've known for years that it's not the end of Sora's adventures because they insisted that Kingdom Hearts III is just the end of Ansem and Xehanort's saga. They can still get more games with Sora or with new characters. The good sales of the installment for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One show that there are still fans who want more games from the series.
Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed in a Q&A session on Twitter that there are new teams working on the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Two more teams are currently developing games in the series. Most surprisingly, one of them will be released " very soon ." Now we can start speculating about what that game will be.
It could be a PC port, given that Final Fantasy XV was ported, and Kingdom Hearts III could be an easy port because it uses the Unreal Engine. The same could be said for a Nintendo Switch or Google Stadia version, as well as remasters. We say this knowing that it's a game that will arrive in the short term, and it's one of the few things that would fit within that timeframe because it doesn't appear to be a new title for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. However, it could be the announcement of a complete bundle for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, but it would be too early to announce that.
