Next January 9 begins CES 2018 in Las Vegas, where we hope to see a lot of news regarding hardware and technology. Among the products that we expect to see is the Intel core i7 8709G processor, which is the first processor to implement a Kaby Lake-G based silicon, accompanied by AMD RX Vega M graphics that will be accompanied by HBM2 memories. This processor, with respect to the current Intel ones with Intel HD graphics, represents a significant graphic improvement, something that the company strongly lacks.
It has been seen in the Futuremark SystemInfo system, based on data from the propel benchmark software. The Intel Core i7 8709G processor makes use of four cores and eight processing threads, which, as we have mentioned, are based on the Kaby Lake architecture. This processor will work at a base frequency of 3.1GHz and in Boost mode it will reach 3.9GHz. Along with this processor with EMIB technology, it will integrate AMD RX Vega M graphics, a revision of the desktop RX Vega, which we expect has a better power consumption than that of desktop graphics cards.
The AMD RX Vega M, receives the code name of 694C: C0, which will work at a frequency of 1.19GHz, which in this case will be accompanied by 4GB of HBM2 memory working at a frequency of 800MHz and a memory interface of 1.024 bits, thus offering a bandwidth of 204.8GB / s. Regarding how many points it has given, we do not know, that in the filtered video shown the results are not seen, but if the expected parameters are met, it will offer a good performance, it is without a doubt, although we have the great doubt whether the consumption will be efficient for a laptop with good autonomy.
