$ 1.4 million worth of Ethereum has been moved within the CryptoKitties game

CryptoKitties is a great success and has already been able to move 1.4 million dollars in Ethereum in just a few days and the trend is growing, but there are also problems in the network.

The CryptoKitties game is growing significantly and the game, which initially had kittens quite cheap in terms of quantity in Ethereum, has gone up in price. The game, one of the first to be based on the ETH cryptocurrency blockchain. Initially, there have been few who have seen this game as a joke, but it is far from it, since large amounts of money have begun to be moved. Current calculations establish that more than 1.4 million dollars have been moved in the purchase and sale of kittens.

The figures are staggering, with kittens selling for around 50 ETH, equivalent to $23.000, and the most expensive being a 'Genesis 0' kitten, which sold for around 246 ETH, or about $113.000. It seems this game, developed by AxiomZen, is generating a huge amount of capital and has quickly become incredibly popular, something that seems to have surprised even the developers themselves. Such is its popularity that 15% of Ethereum traffic now belongs to this kitten game. This is causing problems, making some transactions take longer to execute than they should (I myself should have a new kitten, but the timer for the kittens 'mating' hasn't moved for hours).

Each kitten is unique and is ours until we sell it, being impossible to steal, clone or modify by us or external users. In addition, the game was initially launched with 100 founding kittens and fifteen minutes left new 'Gen 0' type kittens are spawned. The value of these new kittens is the average of the last five sales before the kitten comes out, to which is added 50% of the average value. If it is not purchased, its value increases after 24 hours.

We can put the kittens up for sale in a public auction and wait for them to buy it from us and it is we who establish a starting price and a final sale price, which will automatically adjust as time passes. We can also mix our kittens with those of other users, but that has some costs. It's amazing how much this simple game has grown in such a short time.
