Sea of Thieves has a disastrous start, with hundreds of problems on its servers
The launch of the Sea of Thieves is being a real disaster, as the servers have serious latency problems and are activated or deactivated, depending on the moment.
It would be interesting to say that it is an anomaly, but what has happened to the Sea of Thieves, which was launched on the market yesterday, has become common. The pirate game has been very well received by players, but the game has not really lived up to it. The company has launched it in a staggered manner, giving access to users according to their time zone, which began yesterday afternoon and will end this morning in Spain.
The complaint is that many of the players have detected endless problems, from an absurd lag, with more than 200ms of ping and several jerks, the gold was not won when the mission was finished and many have even shouted at the Heaven to see that the characters lost all objects and weapons, something that prevents play and you can only roam like a headless chicken.
Rare, due to these issues, has shut down the servers many times. The thing was so pathetic, that they closed them without warning, leaving the players who were already inside and preventing anyone else from entering, while they assured, they were 'investigating the problem'. The problem is also that the servers had only been tested with closed betas and the open beta only lasted two days. This implies that many users will go from downloading the game and waiting for it to launch.
The game gives the feeling of continuing in beta format, because there are several problems, the most serious being that the game closes unexpectedly when you want, causing a great loss for users, since the work done is not counted.
The official Sea of Thieves Twitter account is dedicated to apologizing, indicating that they open or close servers, depending on the time and even that they are working on the matter, but they have not given details about the origin of the problems or when the game will work without problems. The most bloody thing is that the game is not exactly cheap, since it has a price of € 70 and of course, this is pissing off users and it is normal.
In order to resolve the issues players are seeing with the servers, we will be temporarily suspending new players joining the game. We'll get everyone back in and playing as quickly as we can!
