Sharkoon expands its range of low-profile keyboards, and with the PureWriter RGB and PureWriter TKL RGB introduces two versions with dimmable RGB lighting
Both versions –with or without a numeric block– additionally incorporate the key functions with predetermined multimedia actions. As with previous non-RGB PureWriter models, Sharkoon continues with Kailh's mechanical switches. Both RGB keyboards are available with red or blue switches.
With the Purewriter RGB and Purewriter RGB TKL, Sharkoon adds dimmable RGB lighting to its low-profile keyboards that goes one step further. Aside from the pre-programmed lighting effects and default lighting profiles, there is a mode on these keyboards that allows the option of individualizing colors using the entire RGB spectrum. The chosen lighting can be programmed on-the-fly and can be saved in profiles. All settings are carried out directly from the keyboard, and therefore no software is required.
The keyboard version with a numeric block separates the multimedia keys for volume control, or to launch the preferred mail program. In addition, both keyboard versions have key functions with default media actions, which, for example, can be used to control the media player.
The purist aluminum surface remains the same, as does its compact frameless design - measuring 436mm in length (355mm for the version without a number pad) and 127mm in width. Thanks to n-key rollover, anti-ghosting keys, a 1.000 Hz polling rate, as well as a choice of mechanical switches, keyboards are not just made for office use. Blue switches offer tactile and acoustic feedback, with a detectable connection point; the red switches might be of more interest to gamers, as they have linear characteristics, as well as an undetectable connection point and click pont. Both keyboard versions have flat keycaps with a height of 6.2mm and a life cycle of at least 50 million keystrokes.
The PureWriter RGB and Purewriter TKL RGB connect using one of the provided USB cables, each having a gold-plated micro B connector and a Type A connector. The short cable is 50 cm long, which is ideal for connection to notebooks. The 150 cm long cable is suitable for use with conventional PCs. The keyboards are also compatible with Android devices by means of an OTG adapter.
The Sharkoon PureWriter RGB, with red or blue mechanical switches, is available in authorized retailers for a price of 79,90 euros. The Sharkoon PureWriter RGB TLK, also with red or blue switches, is available for a price of 69,90 euros.
