SilverStone TP02-M2, an easy to install M.2 SSD heatsink

SilverStone TP02-M2, a heatsink for M.2 SSD storage units, that will improve the performance of these units, lower their temperature and that is very easy to install.

The M.2 SSD storage units are characterized by being high-performance and high-performance units, but they have a very important problem and it is temperature, which causes their performance to plummet. All motherboard manufacturers already have heatsinks for these and many manufacturers of cooling components have their own solutions. The latest solution is the one presented by SilverStone, a company known for offering quality cooling solutions. The SilverStone TP02-M2 is the solution that they have developed to help cool these storage units.

The SilverStone TP02-M2, is a simple aluminum heatsink, which has been developed to be placed on top of the M.2-2280 units, which have a length of 80mm and will be one centimeter high, with a total weight of 16 grams. It is also characterized by being able to have a very simple installation. An adhesive-thermal element is installed, which is in three different sizes, to better adapt to each unit and which is attached to the SSD unit in a rather ingenious way, by means of two simple elastic bands, which exerts pressure on the unit and will help to dissipate heat.

SilverStone has developed this drive with the clear intention of reducing the temperature of the M.2 drives and thus avoiding the performance drop of these drives under high temperatures. We must emphasize that the M.2 can reach 90ºC in times of high load, something that ends up hindering their performance and can cause a 25-30% drop in the performance of these units, so it is a good idea to install one of these measures. We do not have data on the availability or price of these units, but their price should not be very high.
