Android 10 includes a function to detect car accidents exclusively for the Pixel

In the Android 10 Beta code, a way to notify authorities in the event of an accident has been discovered. At the moment it would only be active on Google Pixel phones.

Google has high hopes for Android 10, which still has no name other than Android Q. We haven't seen exceptionally groundbreaking features at Google I / O but there are still months to go until the official launch at the end of the year, as usual. Little by little the code is being investigated with new experimental functions that it is not yet known for sure if they will come to light, but there is already a function that could save the lives of many in the event of an accident.

It is a function that notify the emergency services in case the owner has suffered a traffic accident. One code in particular refers to when there is a collision between cars, with an application codenamed Dogfood.

The Google Pixel could detect accidents and call emergencies

This novelty appears in the Safety Hub section and is currently exclusive to the Google Pixel. It is normal since they are the test terminals closest to Google, but it would be very ugly if only those who have a Google mobile are able to warn when their life is at risk. It is hoped that this part is more accessible to all mobiles with enough sensors.

For the moment it is worth remembering the usual in these cases: it is experimental. At the moment it is deactivated but icons representing a couple of cars colliding were even found. We will still have to wait for the final version to come out, as the code could even be withdrawn in the next updates, so we are waiting for more details of this and other functions to be shown.
