Users' interest in getting an iPhone 13 drops

Apple is suffering from the effects of global supply shortages That prevents them from having enough units to meet consumer demand. Faced with such a shortage, they have seen that interest and demand for the iPhones 13 has fallen even from the most loyal users to the brand.

They have already told their component suppliers that demand for the iPhone 13 line has weakened, according to people familiar with the matter. Due to reduced demand, they would have cut their iPhone 13 production target for this year by about 10 million units, from a target of 90 million, due to a lack of components.

Users do not have the patience to have an iPhone 13

At first they expected that for next year, when the production chain recovers; demand do it. But they have already warned that the supposed increase in orders could not materialize according to the people involved.

That doesn't stop them from having a record holiday season, with sales increasing 6% to $ 117.900 billion in the last three months of the calendar year. But a larger increase was expected for this Christmas season. Now it is expected that many users will not buy the iPhone 13, because in addition to being difficult to obtain, it is a modest improvement over the iPhone 12; and for that reason they decide to postpone their terminal renewal to the iPhone 14 in 2022.

Shares of Apple fell as much as 4,2% in Thursday's trading in New York, while suppliers across Asia and Europe extended their declines following the Bloomberg report. This drop is explained by the fact that the iPhone is Apple's flagship product, accounting for approximately half of its revenue in each fiscal year. Even with mobile phone operators using discount programs to stimulate purchases, they failed to substantially increase sales, and this has been reflected in that slight drop in market value.
