Huawei Mate 30 Pro no longer allows installing Google applications

A security bug in the Huawei Mate 30 Pro allowed the installation of Google applications. The company has already detected the failure and has sent an update that prevents the process from being carried out.

The recently released Huawei Mate 30 Pro you can no longer install Google apps. An investigator examined the phone and exposed a security flaw that allowed it. While this is good news for most people who want to always be on good terms with Google, it is not so good news for Huawei Mate 30 owners who have been enjoying their Google apps. Huawei's new flagship was launched without mentioning Android or Google, but it was found that Google apps could still be installed with the help of an app.

LZPlay allowed the Huawei Mate 30 series to install Google apps for a time. Unfortunately, it has since been removed due to the danger of a security backdoor discovered by curious developer John Wu of Magisk.

Goodbye to the security breach

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro does not have any Google Play certification. It is the result of the United States' trade blockade that tightened in May. For a time, owners of a Mate 30 Pro could download Android applications like other mobiles.

The investigation confirmed that the LZPlay app allowed Google apps to be installed on mobile. What it does is install applications as system applications. Although it seems normal, these applications are not digitally signed by Huawei can be a serious security problem. Simply put, the process or applications have not been properly reviewed.

John Wu shared his finding and very soon, LZPlay.net went down. Even the APK copies stopped working. This means that Mate 30 phones that have downloaded apps from Google are no longer secure. At the moment there is no official way to install Google Play on the Huawei Mate 30, so it will always be a security problem and it is better not to take the risk.
