Oppo prepares a borderless screen for its mobiles

Oppo has in its hands a screen that reaches the sides of the mobile. The denimized Waterfall Screen promises even fewer edges than any other mobile on the market.

More Oppo leaks make us see that they are still looking for a way to differentiate themselves from the huge number of Chinese manufacturers that strive to get cheap but very similar phones. According to a Weibo user, the Chinese Twitter, Oppo is preparing its version of the borderless screen, popularized at the time by the Samsung Galaxy Edge mobile line.

It would be the so-called WaterFall Screen, a screen that reaches the sides of the mobile and is placed on them. Unlike Samsung mobiles, these would be at an angle of 88 degrees with respect to the curve, making a shape that would give many a small heart attack if it fell to the ground.

They can turn the screen on the sides of mobiles

What they question the most is the functionality of these screens that reach the side, something that has been seen to cause many problems at the level of registers and software, in addition to being necessary to be severely adapted so that something unusable is not left.

Luckily it is only a prototype that they have leaked and that does not necessarily mean that a mobile will be made, as it is normal to present these functions and wait for people's reactions. At the moment there is time until they announce a mobile for sale, although with the rhythms of Chinese manufacturers it can take just six months until the announcement of such a mobile is made.

If Samsung has stopped focusing on screens with curved sides it is possible that it is because they do not see profitability, surely because they do not end up seeing the sense to focus on a mobile of this design.
