Smartphones have reached a point where innovations carry very widely. This does not mean that improvements are not being worked on for most of the technologies available to smart phones. OPPO, who knows a lot about the development of fast charging technologies, has gone a step further. The OPPO company has just announced the 125W super fast charging technology for mobile batteries.
Injecting a power of 125W at a voltage of 5V means working with a very high current. Is technology is quite complex and it will be revealed in full by OPPO on July 15. We must bear in mind, on the other hand, that it is a higher power than that supported by most notebook computers.

Currently most of laptops run at 65W of power, leaving aside gaming solutions. The problem is not so much the power, but the current that must be supplied. The 125W of OPPO at a voltage of 5V (to which smartphones are charged) supone a current of 25A.
It is hasty until they give us all the details to know how this new technology will work in OPPO smartphones. But what is clear is that they should be integrated high quality and resistant components. Another problem that must be taken into account is the device temperature, which can become a problem. A thermal stress high reduces component life and therefore of the devices.
On the other hand, there is information that indicates that injecting so much current can be a problem for batteries. This can be a problem, since users tend to take a long time to use the terminals. Degrade battery quickly and make it less efficient in a span of maybe 12 months, may be a problem. We do not know how OPPO will avoid this problem on its smartphone
Although on the efficiency side it is fine, the problem is the obsolescence of the devices.
