PUMA presents its first smartwatch

Sportswear brand PUMA presents its first official smartwatch. This smart watch is designed for athletes, it has enough protection to use it in swimming and it comes in three colors.

More and more brands are betting on expanding their business to wearables, and this time it is one of the great brands of sportswear: PUMA. This brand is already known for its sports equipment and is now fully committed to the smartwatch market with its first official brand smawtwatch.

It will be called the “PUMA Smartwatch” (it doesn’t need much more) and it will be a smartwatch with the Wear OS operating system, an operating system derived from Android. The PUMA smartwatch will come with a Snapdragon Wear 3100 designed to give wearables more battery life. It is compatible with devices with Android 4.4 or higher as long as they are not Android Go (almost any mobile phone that works today) and with iOS 10 or a higher version.

The smart watch of the clothing brand

The battery, of which they have not disclosed capacity, would last 24 active and 2 more days in battery saving mode. Of course, at least charging it won't take long, since 50% is charged in 80 minutes. The PUMA smartwatch with 4GB of storage and 512MB of RAM, but being a watch it doesn't need much more. To this are added the heart rate sensor, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and microphone.

For athletes, the watch is water-resistant up to three atmospheres and suitable for swimming, something entry-level trackers can't do. It will also come in three colors: black, white, and yellow, and if none of those suit your taste, it's compatible with 16mm straps. If you're interested, it will have a retail price of €279 and is already available for purchase online at the PUMA website and in physical stores.
