Qualcomm and Samsung bring the Snapdragon more to the Galaxy S23

Samsung and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. have just announced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 premium mobile platform for Samsung's Galaxy S23 series. This new customization of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 promises accelerated performance, making it the fastest Snapdragon ever and setting a new standard for connected computing.

The launch of Samsung's Galaxy S23 series shows the commitment of both brands to deliver high-level consumer experiences. Thus they manage to maintain the qualities that fans of the Samsung S series expect from the S23 models.

This is how Snapdragon 8 will be combined with the Samsung Galaxy S23

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy features a Qualcomm Kryo CPU accelerated CPU with maximum speeds of up to 3,36 GHz. It also has an updated Qualcomm Adreno GPU that enables real-time hardware-accelerated ray tracing to improve the visual appearance of games mobile. Its support for the latest Vulkan APIs helps developers accelerate the transition from desktop to mobile games.

Samsung's Galaxy S23 will be the first smartphone in the world to use Snapdragon's Cognitive ISP, which enables real-time semantic segmentation to enhance images. It also features ultra-low light video capture, multi-image noise reduction, and 200 MP2 photo capture.

The connectivity of the Galaxy S23 series has 5G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The Snapdragon X70 5G Modem-RF together with the Qualcomm 5G AI processor allows to harness the power of AI to enable 5G coverage, power efficiency, speed and latency. These new devices are also compatible with 5G+5G/4G Dual-SIM Dual-Active3. All variants of the Galaxy S23 series incorporate Qualcomm FastConnect™ 6900 and 7800 systems that offer multi-gigabit Wi-Fi speeds, ultra-low latency, and Bluetooth.

Finally, a Qualcomm 3D Sonic Gen 2 sensor is incorporated. Unlike other authentication solutions, Qualcomm 3D Sonic uses acoustic technology that reflects the unique characteristics of the user's individual fingerprint.
