The new version of the Samsung Galaxy Fold continues to give problems even with the new design. A new series of analysts have seen failures in the new model with catastrophic failures.
In April 2019, we all know what happened. The structural integrity of the Samsung Galaxy Fold failed when some review units were sent to influencers and bloggers for review and they started using the device in real life scenarios. There were reports of blank screens, dead pixel lines, that screen protector that was actually peelable. The units were quickly recalled and Samsung promised to return to fix the problems. So I would return with a new release date and an experience that is not a disaster.
The goal is to keep the Samsung Galaxy Fold from breaking under normal use, which should be a basic requirement for a $2.000 phone. Well, it looks like a new wave of the devices is making its way to people in the US. And reviewers are showing off their new version of the Samsung Galaxy Fold with new dust guards, a screen protector that hides under the bezel, and a ton of warnings on the internal paperwork in the box. This should keep the device from breaking. The word is “should.”
The folding mobile keeps failing critically
TechCrunch's Brian Heater reported today that 27 hours after unpacking the Samsung Galaxy Fold, he simply opened the device. He was waiting at the pharmacy and found a bubble with a cluster of multi-colored pixels about one centimeter in diameter. He continues to theorize about how this could have happened, but he doesn't appear to have done anything serious to the mobile.
It is obvious that the interest in folding mobile phones is slowly turning into a headache for manufacturers. The last thing they need now is to have to pick up a new batch of mobiles that cost more than many computers.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold comes with a very explicit set of guidelines. They even went to the trouble of making a video that dictates how not to break the phone. Yes, the situation was already daunting. At this point we wonder if we really need a foldable mobile device. Especially one that costs almost $ 2.000. It may be useful, but Samsung seems hell-bent on getting it sold. And it is normal, they have half a decade with prototypes for this function.
Samsung Galaxy Fold still struggling
We hope this is an isolated case and Samsung examines what may have gone wrong. I guess we'll see if there are more glitches as time goes on and more people get their devices. Will there be more bug reports? Only time will tell. At least it is not a harm to other people as happened with the Note 7 and those batteries that exploded. At least here the damage is only to the wallet.
