Xiaomi includes 120Hz refresh rate in the latest version of MIUI. At the moment they do not have a mobile with this feature in development.
When Razer first launched the Razer Phone, one of the features that most attracted us to the device was its 120Hz display. While Apple might have been the first to introduce a 120Hz refresh rate display on tablets, Razer was the first to bring it to smartphones, and despite a few years having passed, there are less than a handful of devices that feature. a 120Hz monitor refresh rate and now Xiaomi wants to get in on the bandwagon.
That could change soon, or at least that's according to a report from the developers at XDA Developers. In the latest beta version of MIUI 11 references are made in the changelog to allow users to change the update frequency on their smartphones. After doing some research, two potential options were discovered: 60Hz and 120Hz. These are the two speeds that mobile phones with high refresh rates usually have, although a 90Hz option would be welcome.
Higher on-screen refresh rates
To date, most of the smartphone manufacturers that have introduced higher refresh rates tend to keep it at 90Hz. As we said earlier, there are only a handful of smartphones that use a 120Hz display, such as the Razer Phone, Razer Phone 2, and the ASUS ROG Phone 2, with what would be the first time for Xiaomi. It should be noted that a display with a higher refresh rate generally consumes more battery, which could be why many choose 90H. This is a way to have more fluidity on the screen without ending up consuming all the battery in a moment.
We're not sure which Xiaomi smartphone will have the honor of sporting a 120Hz display, so we'll have to wait and see. What is certain is that it will be a mobile that will be very followed by fans of the brand.
