Synthetic benchmark software provides performance data for its platform. These tools allow you to compare component performance beyond just video games. 3DMark has been updated to add new parameters that allow you to interpret the benchmark data. The 3DMark update adds a performance estimate for five games , providing an FPS estimate.
So the 3DMark software will show us an approximation of the performance of the system in different games. As indicated, the initial games will be Apex Legends, Battlefield V, Fortnite, GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. A very interesting update that will allow to know more or less the performance of the system in games, beyond showing simple scores.

Anyone who has run any of the 3DMark tools through its components will see a score for their CPU and GPU, as well as a combined result. Now a few changes have been introduced in order to make the data more understandable to users.
From now on we will have benchmarks by comparison with other results obtained by the same hardware. The new graph shows us the range of scores of other users based on the same combination of CPU and GPU.
We can also see graphs where the most common scores are shown. We will have a green line where our score is shown and the blue line will show us the average score of other users based on the same hardware combination as us.
Thus, if our result is within the mean, we can say that our system is working correctly. If the score is below average, it could indicate some kind of hardware problem. If the score is very high, it could be an indication that the hardware can still give more of itself through overclocking. All this available in all versions of the 3DMark software, included in the Basic Edition.
Then in the versions 3DMark Advanced Edition and 3DMark Professional Edition we will be shown the performance in the real world. This is nothing more than an estimate of FPS based on a selection of the most popular games of the moment. These results are based on the estimation of the software's score and the tests carried out by UL, the software developers.
