3DMark Port Royal software update, which now implements NVIDIA DLSS, which offers a 50% improvement with benchmark under RayTracing.
The new NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics cards are especially known for supporting RayTracing. These new graphs also implement support for Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). This function is a complement to RayTracing that allows to improve the performance under the tracing of rays of light in real time. Futuremark has released a new benchmark for DLSS, the 3DMark Port Royal. This trial software achieves an improvement of up to 50% in RayTracing over the original version of the software.
3DMark Port Royal improves by 50% with DLSS
This benchmark tool has been released in a hurry and in its first version it only analyzed the pure performance in RayTracing. As we have seen, to get a good FPS rate with RayTracing, you need NVIDIA DLSS. This function based on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, allows to significantly improve performance when using real-time light ray tracing.
Port Royal, the first benchmark with DLSS on the market, came only with light ray tracing. Now with DLSS improving performance, we see how much better results are obtained. So much so that the improvement reaches approximately 50%.
DLSS is basically based on a deep neural network algorithm that has the ability to analyze a scene and adaptively optimize the smoothing of the edges in scenes with high contrast and movement. We are talking about a gigantic evolution of the traditional Anti-Aliasing technology.
