AMD releases a beta of its graphics driver that reintroduces HAGS
AMD has just released a new Radeon GPU driver BETA, which is notable for adding gaming support Avatars: Frontiers of Pandora and marks the return of HAGS, hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.
The new driver Adrenalin Edition 23.30.13.01 from AMD is compatible with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, launching on December 7, as it is an AMD-sponsored title that will feature exclusive optimizations for Radeon GPUs and Ryzen CPUs. The game is included with the latest Ryzen 7000 CPU and Radeon 7000 GPU as reported here.

AMD Adrenalin Edition 23.30.13.01 Known Issues
- Audio may intermittently get out of sync with video when recording from AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition with AV1 codec.
- You may notice intermittent corruption on the race track when playing EA Sports WRC.
- Stars may not appear correctly on Crysis remastered.
- Intermittent micro-dropouts may occur when running Chromium-based browsers on systems that combine a Radeon RX 7000 series GPU with a secondary display connected to an AMD Ryzen 7000 series processor.
In addition to routine changes, support for HAGS (acronym for “HAGS”) has been reintroduced.hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling“). Guru3D forum members were able to detect the enabling of the feature which suggests a possible return of HAGS for current times. This HAGS was last seen in an AMD driver in 2020 intended for the range RX 5000.
HAGS can be defined in a simplified way as “a task scheduler” for a GPU, which allows you to manage your video memory and schedule tasks and thus improve performance and reduce latency in some scenarios. It was introduced with the release of Windows 10, and although it served as a mechanism for managing graphics-intensive tasks, there was no evidence of any performance improvement. This driver is completely separate from the main, with which there is speculation that they want to try it in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
