AMD Radeon Adrenalin Edition 18.4.1 Adds 4K Support for Netflix

The AMD Radeon Adrenalin Edition 18.4.1 drivers offer full support for PlayReady 3.0 technology, which allows streaming content to be played in 4K quality, such as Netflix.

Right now AMD is in a good moment and they are working more than what would be expected and they are offering all kinds of improvements and solutions, both at the hardware and software level. The company's drivers have made it possible to improve the performance of its products and the microcode has made it possible to increase the performance of the processors. The company has released new drivers, the Radeon Adrenalin Edition 18.4.1, which are characterized above all by offering support for Microsoft's PlayReady 3.0 technology.

PlayReady 3.0 technology is Microsoft's own DRM technology, which, among other things, allows 4K video playback for streaming platforms, such as Netflix. No one had noticed at this point, except the Hardware.info portal, who have realized that these new drivers add support for DRM, which will allow users to view 4K content on platforms such as Netflix. NVIDIA and Intel have been offering full support for PlayReady 3.0 for months, but we don't know why AMD has taken a lifetime to officially implement support.

We recall that the Radeon Adrenalin Edition 18.4.1, are the new drivers released by AMD, to improve the compatibility and performance of Windows 10 April Update. For this compatibility to be total, we must access the Netflix platform through the Microsoft Edge browser and logically, you must have the Netflix pack that includes 4K. It should be noted that to enjoy this content we need a bandwidth of 25Mbps.

These drives also offer performance improvements in some products and games, but are mostly focused on improving compatibility and performance from Microsoft's big update.
