AMD Releases Software: Adrenalin Edition with Performance Enhancements for Starfield
Today, AMD released AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.8.2 with Day-0 support for Bethesda's RPG game, Starfield. The driver offers the possibility of having higher performance with AMD Radeon graphics cards.

Adds Starfield support
- Up to 16% better performance for Starfield @ 4k, using AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.8.2 on the Radeon GPU RX7900XTX, compared to the previous software driver version 23.8.1 RS-594.
- Up to 16% better performance for Starfield at 4k resolution, using AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.8.2 on the Radeon RX 7900 XT GPU, compared to the previous software driver version 23.8.1 RS-595
Fixed issues
You may experience an app crash or controller timeout when playing games. Baldur's Gate 3 with the DirectX 11 API configured on select systems with Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs.
Known issues
- Performance metrics overlay may report N/A for FPS across multiple games.
- Audio may intermittently go out of sync with video when recording from AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition with the AV1 codec.
- The screen may not reach the correct brightness with certain games on certain SAMSUNG™ FreeSync Premium Pro monitors or televisions with the local dimming setting enabled.
Important notes
AMD is working with Starfield game developers to resolve an intermittent driver timeout or visual corruption issue when Dynamic Resolution is set to 75-78% with certain ultrawide monitors. Users experiencing this issue should adjust the Dynamic Resolution option as a workaround.
Factory reset has been temporarily disabled as a precautionary measure while fixing isolated installation issues that have been reported during PC updates. Users can use AMD Cleanup Utility as a temporary option.
