An issue with the AMD SCSIAdapter driver appears to be causing Windows 10 boot issues on certain hardware configurations. This problem seems to be found mostly on motherboards made by Gigabyte.
Several users have reported these problems in the technical forums of the ComputerBase portals, Microsoft Answers and the subreddit dedicated to AMD. The problems seemed to start after the Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. - SCSIAdapter - 9.3.0.221 driver was shipped to users via Windows Update.
An AMD driver gives problems in Windows 10
For now, everything indicates that the boot problems caused by this AMD driver are mainly affecting motherboards gigabyte aorus using the X570 chipset. The only way to fix the problem is to remove the driver update and prevent Windows Update from installing it again. For that it will be useful to have a history of Windows updates saved to be able to revert to it.
Complaints about the issue began appearing on Microsoft Answers on April 28. A week later, people continue to report that Windows Update forced them to install the driver and in the process caused boot problems. Users have advised those who fear being affected by this faulty driver to install driver updates directly from the vendor instead of relying on Windows Update.
The driver update was reportedly pushed out to the Windows Insider program and normal Windows 10 users alike. Right now, the best option seems to be to avoid Windows Update, or at least this particular driver, until the problem is resolved. It is expected that AMD or Guigabyte will release a version of the driver within several weeks to solve this problem that is leaving many users without access to their computer.
