Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 consumes less battery than Chrome and Firefox

A study indicates that the Microsoft Edge browser under Windows 10 gives more autonomy in video playback than Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
For many years the Internet Explorer browser has been the laughingstock of computing. Microsoft loaded it into Windows 10 and replaced it with Edge, a much more powerful browser. The company has seen that it does not finish taking off and wants to change it to one based on Chromium. Despite Microsoft Edge not taking off, a study of energy consumption reveals that it is excellent. Windows 1809 version 10 released in November says it consumes less laptop battery than Chrome or Firefox.
Microsoft Edge is more efficient in battery consumption.
For this test a streaming video has been reproduced under HTML code in full screen. The laptop's brightness has been reduced to 50 percent and the volume has been removed. In addition, the location, bluetooth, temporary updates, ambient light sensor and Windows Update have been disabled. Edge offers 24% more autonomy compared to Chrome. Compared to Firefox, it offers up to 94% more autonomy. It is clear that Firefox is a highly inefficient browser and that Chrome despite not being great, is fine.
This test was carried out on a Surface Book and the test had the same parameters in all three cases. Edge has given 16 hours of autonomy, Chrome has given 13 hours of autonomy and Firefox has barely exceeded 8 hours. Clearly the worst is Firefox which cuts battery life in half. Chrome despite everything offers 13 hours which is not bad at all, really.
What is evident is that Edge is an excellent browser that if it does not have support it is because of its past. Internet Explorer was a horrible browser easy to beat, but Microsoft has put the batteries and has passed Google and Mozilla on the right.
