Microsoft suffers incidents in its cloud services due to the increase in demand

The coronavirus has forced us to be locked up at home, some teleworking, but the vast majority are idle. This is causing the infrastructures of the main technology companies to be at the limit. Microsoft has announced that the Xbox Live service is experiencing a brutal increase in players during this quarantine period. This is putting the company's cloud services at risk.
Microsoft highlights that the load on its services related to video games has grown by 775%. Specifically, they have highlighted that this increase in traffic is due to Microsoft Teams, Xbox Line, Xbox Game Pass and Mixer. They would not be the only services with a brutal increase in demand, also Windows Virtual Desktop have experienced a growth of 300%.
Overload on Microsoft servers
All service providers are being affected by this avalanche of users. YouTube, Prime Video and Netflix have reduced the bitrate to adjust to lower the load suffered by internet operators. Steam has far exceeded the barrier of 23 million connected users. Even Microsoft Teams has suffered a big drop in Europe due to the huge increase in traffic.
Xbox Live and Xbox Game Pass are also suffering from increased traffic. Users of Xbox servers come in in droves and don't usually go offline for hours. This would be causing queued users to be unable to access the platform.
We have seen a 775 percent increase in our cloud services in regions that have imposed social distancing or home confinement.
To streamline moderation and ensure the best experience for our community, we are making minor adjustments. We have temporarily disabled the ability to upload player photos, club photos and wallpapers. Additionally, updates will be downloaded at times with a lower peak of connected users.
