NVIDIA DLSS and Reflex integrate as add-ons in Unreal Engine 4

Unreal Engine 4 now integrates NVIDIA DLSS and NVIDIA Reflex tools as add-ons to improve its integration in video games

It seems that NVIDIA has a great ally in the world of video games, such as Epic Games. And it has just been announced that Unreal Engine 4 (Epic Games graphics engine) will support NVIDIA DLSS and Relfex. This is in addition to the announcement a few weeks ago to integrate RayTracing technology into the graphics engine.

NVIDIA DLSS and Reflex are added to Unreal Engine 4 as plugins

Native integration of both technologies in Unreal Engine 4 greatly simplifies their use. This will make it easier for developers to use these technologies that had to be added later. We must also bear in mind that Unreal Engine is one of the most used graphics engines today.

The statement released by NVIDIA indicates that DLSS and Reflex plugins have been created for Unreal Engien 4. Something that will not only make life easier for developers, it will greatly improve the user experience. We can obtain a notable performance improvement by minimally sacrificing the sharpness of the image.

We also have a list of the games that will have DLSS support as they have been developed under Unreal Engine:

  • Final Fantasy 7 Remake
  • Fortnite
  • Ghost runner
  • Godfall
  • Borderlands 3
  • Gears 5
  • Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

Control was one of the first games to support DLSS, which has reached other games. It is normally used to adjust the losses generated by RayTracing technology. But in Death Stranding only DLSS is used, achieving a huge performance improvement.

Regarding NVIDIA Reflex it is a technology that improves latency when we play. There is a delay between our mouse movements or keystrokes and the action is reflected. NVIDIA has developed a technology that reduces this latency and achieves improved precision in games.

Both NVIDIA DLSS and Reflex are now available for Unreal Engine 4.26
