The latest drivers from NVIDIA, the GeForce Experience 436.02 WHQL have a bug that allows to bypass the consent of the GPDR.
New drivers have just been released NVIDIA GeForce Experience 436.02 WHQL. These implement major performance improvements in various games. At the same time these drivers seem to have a major installation bug. The installer appears to have a bug that forces GeForce Experience to install without GPDR-compliant user consent.
The NVIDIA installer presents a selection screen right at the beginning of the installation. This driver allows users to choose to install GeForce Experience with GPDR consent. There is a second option that allows users to reject GPDR consent, which forces the installer to install GeForce drivers without GeForce Experience. A major bug in the installer that bypasses GPDR consent entirely.
Bug in drivers NVIDIA 436.02 allows to install drivers without GPDR consent
A major issue compounded when choosing to install GeForce Experience from the list of components within the custom install screen cannot be overridden. Custom installation allows the user to avoid installing something they don't need. The other mode is the default installation which installs all items.
At the moment it is unknown if it is a simple installation error by the company. If it were premeditated, it would be bypassing European legislation completely and could entail a significant financial penalty.
We assume that it will be some kind of error when packaging the drivers for installation. Respecting the GPDR is essential, as it is a European Union standard and could lead to significant fines. We will see how the company solves this important problem. It could be that they were working on drivers by region, but it doesn't seem logical either.
Note that these new drivers add performance improvements in the titles Apex Legends, Battlefield V, Forza Horizon 4, Strange Brigade and World War Z. Additionally, support for three new monitors is added through the G-Sync Compatible label.
