TikTok rejects Microsoft and it will be Oracle who manages the data of the App

A few months ago Donald Trump, President of the United States, threatened to outlaw the Chinese application TikTok. During these months, the Chinese company has sought a solution to avoid illegalization. Microsoft during this time has held talks to try to close a deal. Well, in a major turn of events, it seems that finally Oracle will be the one to reach an agreement with TikTok.

Microsoft seemed the best positioned to date, mainly due to its technological relevance. Microsoft's idea was to make a total purchase of the application, without seemingly touching anything. But this seems that neither the owner of TikTok nor the Government of China, who announced all kinds of obstacles to the operation.

Agreement principle between TikTok and Oracle

Finally Oracle has achieved what seems like a principle according to TikTok, but not for its acquisition. Oracle will be in charge of managing the application data in the United States. This would eliminate the 'concerns' of the President of the United States, if they exist at all. We already know that Trump is constantly pursuing a policy of attacks on China.

The agreement would not be the total sale, but the management by Oracle of some elements of the TikTok application. Thus, the application will remain the property of a Chinese company and the banning of the App in the United States is avoided. What is quite surprising is that they have rejected Microsoft's offer, something that was confirmed this morning, before the principle of agreement with Oracle was announced.

At the moment the details of the agreement between Oracle and TikTok have not been disclosed. Oracle has simply said to ensure the privacy of American users. They have also highlighted that they will guarantee that the application does not pose any risk to the security of the country. So POTUS can now eat his Cheesburguer in peace.
