Many users are still unaware of the existence of Windows 11
There are very few days until the official launch of Windows 11, and shortly before it has been revealed that most Windows users do not even know that the new operating system exists. According to a recent Savings.com survey, 62 percent of users surveyed indicated that they were unaware that Windows 11 was on its way.
1.042 current Windows users were surveyed about their knowledge and willingness to upgrade to the new operating system. Fewer than 40 percent of users said they knew about the pending Windows 11 release, and roughly the same number of respondents said they would be willing to update it once it was due.
Windows 11, almost unknown to the general public
Almost two-thirds of all users surveyed stated that they did not know if their devices were compatible with Windows 11, especially since the operating system is incompatible with older CPUs. Older users were also more likely to indicate they were aware of the update, with only 28 percent of respondents between the ages of 18 and 24 saying they were familiar with Windows 11, compared with 56 percent of respondents older than 55 years.
Everything seems to indicate that much of the ignorance is that Microsoft is focusing its launch on the most enthusiastic, with Windows 11 being a security update and services for dedicated users. It is understandable that many users who, due to their age, use the mobile phone more and are used to using it are less aware than the generation that had to learn Windows with less facilities.
Windows 11 hopes to be a worker-friendly update, as long as they know how to enable TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot on their systems — one of the big complaints about this update. It will include added productivity features like “Snap” multitasking layouts, integration with Microsoft Teams, virtual desktop support, and the reintroduction of desktop widgets.
