Windows 10 will now need 32GB of hard drive space starting in May
The space requirements of Microsoft Windows 10 change, 32GB being needed from now on from the new May update.
Increasing the capacity of SSDs and reducing the price is something important for users. An importance that could increase shortly. Everything points to Microsoft changing the need for space to install Windows 10. According to an image that has appeared from Microsoft itself, it would take more space on the hard disk. Those with a very tight capacity SSD might even run into a problem.
Microsoft increases the space that Windows 10 occupies
This new requirement has been published by Microsoft and will arrive in the May update, come on, in a few days. The ones that will have the most problems in this case are those that run the operating system from a pen drive. It is not usually the most common, but there are systems that do use this system. In our case we have several miners that do not have SSD, it has a pen drive for Windows 10.
An update to the Windows 10 minimum requirements, which only affects space requirements. Now 32GB of hard drive space will be needed for the next operating system update. So far 16GB were required for the 32-bit version and up to 20GB for the 64-bit version.
The company has not provided data regarding the reason why the space requirement is increased. It seems that Microsoft will reserve 7GB of space for future updates of the operating system.
It is unknown what can happen if you don't have enough space for this update. The computer may issue a warning that there is no space to update Windows 10. Normally, this update is not installed and the message is persistent so that you can correct it as soon as possible. We will see in the next few days when this becomes a reality.
