For years Microsoft has despised Linux, launching all kinds of attacks on this community. Under Satya Nadella, things have changed a lot and Linux and the Open Source community are no longer seen as a rival. To continue this friendship, Microsoft continues to add items for Linux on Windows 10. Windows 10 Build 20211 (Insider Preview) version supports viewing Linux files.
A few years ago the purchase of GitHub by Microsoft was quite popular and sowed doubts. This platform is the largest open source repository website that exists today. After several years the platform has hardly changed and is still a leading open source platform.

This new version for the Insiders program adds a search engine on the Applications page by default within the Settings. It allows us to access and search for an extension of a file to locate it before. Also, access to Linux file systems is added in WSL.
After making some updates to help improve performance, this change to allow searching in the lists of file types, protocols and applications when a default value is set is now rolling out to all Insiders on the Dev Channel - thanks to all the who have shared their comments along the way
This latest Windows 10 Build 20211 advancement adds the ability for users to attach and mount a physical disk inside a WSL 2 distro. This allows you to access file systems that are not natively supported by Windows (such as ext4). So if you are booting with Windows and Linux, and you are using different disks, you can now access your Linux files from Windows. To learn more about this feature, read this post.
Note that since this build is for the Dev channel, it is not tied to a specific update. These features could arrive in update 21H1 or later.
