Stardew Valley receives its update 1.4

The PC version of Stardew Valley receives the long-awaited 1.4. In a few weeks it reaches all consoles.

Stardew Valley PC version 1.4, which has been in development for several months, is now available . These types of updates are more than just a simple patch, as they add a huge amount of new content and fixes that encourage players to return to the game after months of inactivity, or even start a new game.

For now it is only available on PC, but it will reach the rest of versions of consoles such as Nintendo Switch and PlaYStation 4. Below we put all the details of this update.

New content and new features

A well advanced unlocking cinema has been added to the game, with related content and features.
14 heart events added for each spouse.
New events and dialogues have been added (including a new heart event for Caroline).
Added equipped clothing items on the player (replaces previous clothing appearance options)
Tailored and dyed clothing was added.
Added 24 new hairstyles, including bald ones.
Added the Four Corners farm map (intended for co-op mode) that divides the land into four areas with its own perks
Fish ponds were added to raise fish and produce items.
New items were added: 181 shirts, 35 hats; 14 pants (including dresses, skirts and shorts); 2 boots; 38 decorative items obtained in various ways (for example, new events); 17 new flooring options; 2 new secret notes; two fish: flounder and midnight carp; Artifact Chunks (Clint the Blacksmith can open them to produce artifacts); Caviar, roe and aged roe; Dark sword; Deluxe Scarecrows (given when you collect all the rare scarecrows, it has twice the radius); Dinosaur Mayonnaise (processed from dinosaur eggs); Golden scythe; Mini-Jukebox (can be placed anywhere on the farm or in farm buildings to play previously listened music); Mini-Fridges (can be placed inside the house to extend the capacity of the fridge); Rice cultivation; Meerschaum Pudding (Fishing Level 9 Cooking Recipe); Cocktail (recipe learned by watching the cooking channel on Winter 25 in Year 2); Squid ink; Sunflower honey (produced by greenhouses); Tea bushes, tea leaves and green tea; Training rod (easier fishing but only catch common fish); Tree fertilizer (non-fruit trees grow faster); Teleportation totem for the Desert; Withered Bouquet (crafted from a bouquet, allows you to break away from the NPCs you are dating); workbench (allows you to create ingredients with items from adjacent chests); Wood chipper (turns hardwood and wet wood into wood).
New mine content has been added: a quarry mine dungeon with the new Cursed Skull and Sludge monsters, and a gold scythe; Prehistoric floors in Skull Cavern, featuring a new Paprika Dinosaur monster Rare alternate levels in mines 1–120 after unlocking the mine shaft dungeon-like quarry.
Added shed upgrade that doubles the size of the interior
Added selectable cat / dog breeds from the new character customization menu or Altar of Illusions
Added Krobus as a potential roommate if you're not married.
Added a desert merchant that sells new items.
Added Trash Bear to clean up trash around town starting in year 3.
Added 4 new monster eradication goals and awards.
Added 4 new museum reward tiers (for donating 35, 70, 80 and 90 items).
Added improvements to trash cans that can be purchased from Clint (gives 15-60% of the value of trash items as money).
A new room was added in Pierre and Caroline's house.
Added the ability to perform various gestures via a new menu (default key is “Y”).
Added a new farm building: Desert Obelisk.
Winter carriageways were added.
Added hidden subplot if you have turned your kids into pigeons. Watch TV on the 26th of Autumn, then visit the Witch's Hut for a recurring effect, and fish at the Four Corner Farmhouse for a unique effect.
Added experimental support to allow farmers to move buildings.
Added a new dumpster in front of JojaMart.
Map export feature added (except on 32-bit Linux), accessed via a button in the options menu or the chat / mapscreenshot command. Screenshots are saved in the appdata folder; click a button on the options screen to open it. When using the command, you can optionally specify a file name and percentage size such as / mapscreenshot test 25.
Added VSync option. Disabling VSync can improve the overall frame rate at the expense of frame rate stability.
Added a character profile accessed through the relationships tab (it tells us birthdays, their likes or dislikes as you discover them in-game, etc.).
Added “Advanced Crafting Info” option which displays more information about the crafting menu (including the number of times crafted and the amount of each ingredient available).
Files were added to the OST with new music tracks.
Added a new secret on the title screen.
The Junimo Kart minigame has been completely revamped and is now “really fun.”
Sideboards can now be used to store clothes, hats, shoes, and rings.
When you catch a silver or gold quality fish, a “perfect” catch now increases the quality by one. (This is the only way to get iridium quality fish.)
Now we can put hats on our children once they can walk.
Now you can play Elliott's piano.
You can now put gemstones in Junimo huts to affect the color of the new Junimos.
Spouses you have divorced no longer attend your next weddings and no longer treat you normally during town festivals.
Auto-Grabbers now also work in the chicken coop.
Successfully parrying a slime attack now prevents the “slimed” debuff.
Algae can now be found on the lower shore of the Tidal Pool Beach.
The Adventurer's Guild now sells the boots you already found in the mine chests.

Quality of Life improvements

Added the ability to rearrange museum artifacts without having to donate a new one.
Added the ability to reread received letters at any time through the collections tab.
Added ability to rotate toolbar (using Tab and Ctrl + Tab by default).
Added the ability to fill existing stacks in a chest from your inventory.
Added notification when a tool being updated is ready.
Tabs have been added to Catalog and Furniture Catalog.
Added the current balance of Qi Coins to the Calico Jack minigame UI.
Added Linux support for pasting invite codes via an on-screen button (requires xclip).
Upcoming weddings have been added to the game schedule.
All events should now be skipped.
Gates can now be attached to a fence piece (rather than needing fences on both sides), allowing for double width gates.
The hallway to the spouse's room on a two-story farmhouse now matches the bedroom floor.
The interaction cursor has been changed when targeting farm animals that you have not petted today.
Giving a single character a gift no longer makes our spouse jealous unless he or she is currently dating.
You can now build / move farm buildings on tilled land and tree seeds.
Attempting to construct / transfer farm buildings to an animal now causes them to stray
Being defeated in the mine no longer makes you forget the levels you have advanced.
After collapsing in the mines and losing items, a list of lost items is now displayed and you can pay Marlon to get one of them back.
You can now remove the hats from your horse (interacting with the horse while holding another hat).
Now you can throw away copper pans and slingshots.
You can now buy copper pans from Willy's shop after receiving the first one.
You can now stack craftable items in inventory (such as kegs or ovens).
Now you can attach baits, tackle, etc. to your fishing rods directly from a treasure chest.
You can now Shift-click to move them off the toolbar.
Now you can press and hold the interact button without re-activating the eat item prompt. That allows players to quickly refill rows of canning kegs / jars without being interrupted by the prompt.
Now you can go to sleep while holding an item.
You can now pause Junimo Kart by pressing Enter or P.
Now you can play Junimo Kart completely with the keyboard.
Facilitated the collection of milk / wool from farm animals. Animals now have a bigger hit box, and using scissors / bucket while facing multiple animals now finds the best combination instead of the first one.
When interacting with a mill that only has one item type, it now automatically collects the item instead of opening a menu of chests.
Pointing to a required inventory item for a bundle now causes the Junimo bundle button to click.
Flagging an item for sale in the shop menus now displays the text “Gunther can give you more information” if the item has not yet been donated.
Mushroom shoots are now distinguishable from other trees.
Wild Bait now offers the opportunity to catch two fish at once instead of being useless.
Pets no longer appear in positions that block farm doors or hallways.
When exiting a Junimo package menu, the cursor highlights the package that was exited.
Farm animals standing on crops no longer prevent the crop from being harvested.
A message now appears when a surrounding obstruction prevents the fruit tree from growing.
When an NPC walks on a chest, it will now download its contents instead of destroying it.
When viewing a package, the inventory items for the filled spaces are now grayed out.
Jumping through a mine shaft just above level 100 will no longer drop you below level 100 in Skull Cavern.
Players can now “push” through NPCs at festivals, to avoid getting stuck in some instances.
Queen of Sauce replays will now choose an already issued recipe that a player is unaware of.
The animation that plays when a new lost book is found now only plays once per player.
Unclaimed Package Rewards can now be collected from a Junimo Bag in the Community Center.
Wild tree seeds can now be placed in any excavatable tile off the farm without the need to plow it first.
When you dismiss the map by clicking on it, you now go back to the previous menu tab (if applicable).
Withered trellis crops no longer block movement.
The Hat Mouse now sells hats that you have won in festival contests.
Moving the cursor over a crab pot while holding the action button no longer lifts it.
Hovering over a farm animal while holding down the action button no longer opens the inspection menu (making it easier to pet animals).
Improved the logic of “Organize Inventory”. It now properly handles empty space on Linux, and sorts stacks from largest to smallest.
Thread mushroom processing time was modified to be harvestable in the morning (instead of midday).
Obelisks now have a 3x2 footprint instead of a 3x3 footprint. (Their sprites are not affected).
Dropping an item when collecting rewards from Gunther now flings the item down instead of up, to prevent players without magnetic rings from throwing items out of range.

Changes in game balance

Fruit trees no longer need the surrounding squares to be empty to increase their quality once they are fully developed.
Fruit trees are no longer blocked from growing by non-colliding objects (especially artifact points).
Giant mushrooms no longer drop wood (and debris is now white instead of brown).
You can now increase your friendship by talking to the villagers at festivals.
Trains now drop more items when they pass through the north pass of the mountain.
Some items no longer appear in random store stock: Dark Eggs, Dark Mayonnaise, and Sweet Gem Berries.
The quarry now spawns oak and maples.
Coal Furnaces now require 2 copper bars (was XNUMX gold bar).
Cheese now sells for more money.
The cloth now falls more frequently from the mummies.
Sideboards now cost more.
Looms can now produce multiple cloths when higher quality items are entered.
You can no longer buy pancakes from Krobus before Winter of the first year.
The Sturdy Ring is now easier to craft.
Special powers in Journey Of The Prairie King will now not get stuck in monster entry zones.
Calico Jack and the slot machines in the casino now statistically favor the player. (Previously, the player was more likely to lose.)
The Forester profession now causes 25% more wood to fall from trees / stumps / logs, instead of increasing the value of wood by 50%.
Speed-Gro and water retention compost can now be applied to crops at any time.
Basic and quality fertilizers can be applied to seeds (but cannot be applied once a seed has sprouted).
The frequency with which secret notes are removed has been rebalanced.
Fishing tackle now sells for less once used, depending on its remaining durability.
The Sweet Gem Berry can no longer be purchased from the travel cart, now you can only purchase the seeds.
Bean Pot now grants +30 Max Energy and +32 Magnetism, instead of displaying “+2 Max Energy” but granting nothing.
The quality of wild onions is now determined at the beginning of the day.
The Legend fish can now only be caught once.
The bottom edge of the fishing tackle bar is now slightly more generous.
The effect of fishing level on fish size is no longer limited to 10.
Debris now respawns in early spring in the forest south of the farm, town, and railroad.
Reduced instances of items splashing water when visually on land.
Lightning rods are now always harvestable immediately the day after being hit.
Wheat now has a 40% chance of dropping hay at harvest.
You can now get Wild Bait from Fishing Treasure Chests if you know the crafting recipe.
