T-FORCE CARDEA Ceramic C440, the first unit on the market with a ceramic heatsink

Solid-state drives (SSDs) are now indispensable in any computer setup. These storage units offer high performance and excellent features. T-FORCE, the gaming division of Team Group, has just announced the launch of the CARDEA Ceramic C440. This M.2 NVMe 1.3 form factor SSD features a PCI-Express 4.0 interface.

This unit stands out above all because what appears to be a small blank bezel is not. It really is a company proprietary ceramic composite heatsink. We don't know how it will work, but ceramics are widely used in the electronics industry for cooling electronic components.

According to T-FORCE this aerospace grade ceramic heatsink reduces the temperature by up to 18% compared to an aluminum heatsink. In addition, it has the advantage of being much lighter and thinner than systems based on aluminum heatsinks. It has an anti-electromagnetic interference system, withstands high temperatures and resists extreme temperature shocks. In addition, it is manufactured with environmentally friendly materials, complying with the RoHS regulations.

Regarding the performance of the CARDEA Ceramic C440 unit, it offers a reading speed of 5.000MB / s and a writing speed of 4.400MB / s. In random read this unit offers 750.000 IOPS and in random write it offers 700.000 IOPS. It assumes speeds 10 times faster than a SATA @ 6Gbps SSD and 65% faster than an M.2 PCI-Express 3.0.

CARDEA Ceramic C440 will arrive with a capacity of 1TB and 2TB. These drives offer 1.7 million hours of use and up to 3.600 TB of writing. Unfortunately the price and release date have not been revealed.
