TerraMaster Announces F2-423 and F4-423 NAS with Performance Improvements of up to 50%

Enterprise-grade NAS specialist manufacturer TerraMaster has announced the launch of its latest 423-series NAS. F2-423 2-bay and F4-423 of 4 bays. Both the F2-423 and the F4-423 represent an entry point for use by prosumers and SMEs.

TerraMaster launches new NAS for professional users

The F2-423 and F4-423 models incorporate a Intel Celeron N5105/5095 quad-core CPU improved with maximum speeds of 2,9 GHz. They also improve energy efficiency compared to the previous generation, thus making less impact on the electricity bill. Its on-chip AES-NI engine provides the real-time encryption capability, and a dedicated 4K media decoding engine enables reliable and efficient video streaming directly from the NAS.

With the new generation of CPUs, performance improvements will be noticed in high workload scenarios. The TerraMaster NAS 423 series delivers up to 50% more performance than the previous generation, with a 37% increase in file and photo retrieval speed, a 35% increase in database response speed and a 40% increase in the response speed of web pages in PHP.

Support for numerous file services such as SMB, AFP, SFTP/FTP, iSCSI, NFS and WebDAV enables the TerraMaster F2-423 and F4-423 to meet the cross-platform file serving needs of various network environments. Both TerraMaster 423 series NAS are compatible with Windows AD domain and LDAP needed for seamless integration into existing enterprise computing environments. Its permission management helps ensure data security. It supports a variety of backup solutions, including cloud-based services, as well as professional virtualization applications such as VirtualBox and Docker, and through cooperation with Docker-compose and Portainer.

Thanks to its 4K video decoding capability, both the TerraMaster F2-423 and F4-423 can conveniently stream video directly to network devices.
