Thermalright AXP-100H Muscle, a small but powerful heatsink

Thermalright AXP-100H Muscle, a low profile, high cooling power heatsink ideal for compact equipment.

Thermalright just introduced their new AXP-100H Muscle heatsink that goes with the Narrow ILM mounting kit. Thermalright offers a slightly modified version for HTPC, which is intended for those who want a good compact cutter cooling system. The Thermalright AXP-100H Muscle has been raised a bit to ensure that it can be attached to motherboards like the ASUS RoG Maximus VIII, which has a slightly higher-than-normal passive cooling block for the VRMs.

The distance between the base that is in contact with the processor and the heatsink fins has been increased by 7mm to avoid problems. The height of this heatsink is only 51mm high, reaching 65mm in height if we add the height of the fan. The most interesting thing about this heatsink is that it is still extremely low profile although with a high cooling flow. This cooler is directly designed for HTPC or miniPC equipment.

Something characteristic of this heatsink is that it has six heatpipes that go from the base that wanted to be in contact with the processor to the forty aluminum fins designed for high-performance cooling work despite its small size. The ILM Narrow system that it incorporates makes it compatible with Intel LGA 2011 and 2011v3 processors and with AMD AM2, AM2 +, AM3, AM3 +, FM2 and FM2 + processors.

This new heatsink can now be purchased in stores. The AXP-100H Muscle is priced at € 40 and the ILM Narrow kit is priced at an additional € 5. It is really a shame that the extension is sold separately and not all in one package.
