Valve does nothing, while Steam fills with groups that extol shootings at colleges and universities in the United States

They dive into the sewers of Steam and find a large number of groups that support the killings in colleges and universities in the United States, some even postulate repeating these acts, while Valve is silent.

If we begin to dig or delve into the sewers of the different current social networks, we will find groups, users and profiles that apologize for all the scum that has passed on the face of the earth and events that we hope will never be repeated. Facebook blocks hundreds of groups a day advocating terrorism and violence, on Twitter we have many profiles that support killings or have racist and xenophobic attitudes. Well, Steam is not saved from this scourge either, as reported by The Center for Investigative Reporting.

We must see Steam as a virtual store and a social network at the same time, where there are millions of users and thousands of groups of different kinds. Valve, unfortunately, is not very given to making controls on the platform, the perfect breeding ground for it to be filled with hate groups. This is what the non-profit organization The Center for Investigative Reporting denounces and among these groups, there are a large number of those who revere school shooters.

Valve is the company behind Steam and there are an estimated 125 million registered users. The platform's code of conduct specifies that racism and 'threats of violence or harassment, even as a joke' are prohibited. That these groups proliferate and operate for years with impunity, makes clear the null interest of Valve in applying its own policies.

A user named School Shooter 66, put in the Squad School Shooting Squad group, that 'I plan to shoot at Forest Lake State School', in March 2017. Within the thread it reads that: 'I plan to bring an M16, 3 Mags, pills for suicide and an ax ', what's more, he details his plan and specifies in capital letters and clearly that' THIS IS NOT A JOKE '.

There are other groups where they talk about school shootings, they even take the names of the best-known school shooters and celebrate mass killings like that of Elliot Rodger, who killed six people near the University of California in 2015. There is a group called 'Future School Shooter Material', has 106 members and calls itself 'a group dedicated to the brilliant young minds who are tortured by thugs. Join if you want to be a shooter at school in the future '

Another group is called the 'School Shoot Gang', which uses the image of Dylan Klebold as an avatar, the Columbine shooter. 'Do you remember Columbine High?' He asks. 'That was just a warm-up. For Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. ' There are even groups dedicated to Elliot Rodger, Goerge Zimmerman, and Charles Manson. If you search for 'School shooter', you will find no less than 248 results. Some are just a handful, but in others there are more than a hundred.

Not only are they violent messages, but some are also racist: 'who is in charge of shooting blacks or Hispanics?' Asks one of the users of these Steam groups. 'I thought it was me, but I'm not sure,' he ends up saying.

I include there is a group, which calls Elliot Rodger, the murderer of California, a true American hero, and even made a vague threat to repeat this fact. 'I'm like Elliot Rodger,' says this user. 'Don't worry guys, I'll give it a try soon!'

Moreover, has been discovered by Vice, that a public school shooter on Steam his view of the world before he made the shooting. It was William Edward Atchison, who posted racist comments and violent appeals on Steam and other communities for many years, before killing two students and himself at Aztec High School in New Mexico on December 7, 2017.

It is not the only worrying thing, since there is a group of neo-Nazis, called Atomwaffen, who had perpetrated several murders recently and who published regularly on YouTube and Steam.

Vice has contacted Valve, but they have not responded absolutely anything about it. They comment that they have been trying to contact the Steam developer since October 2017 and that they have not received the slightest response about this. Hopefully after uncovering this, they take action for a bloody time, since this only hurts the vision of the world for fans of video games, who do not have any type of psychological disorder.
