AMD graphics sales surpass 550 million units in 2019
The processor market is currently quite well controlled by AMD thanks to its Ryzen solutions. But it's not the only market where the company is doing quite well. Market analysis firm Jon Peddie Research has released data on the company's graphics cards. They claim that AMD's graphics card sales have reached 553 million units since 2013.
Although the data is spectacular, NVIDIA and Intel with their dedicated solutions would still be ahead of AMD. But the most important thing is that AMD has been growing sales for six years by more than 600%. Presumably with the arrival of RDNA2 with support for Ray Tracing, sales will increase further.

There is no doubt that the data is spectacular, but it does have a certain trick. Of the 553 million units, 36% would only be dedicated graphics cards. Another 35% of graphics would be integrated into the APUs and the remaining 29% would be graphics integrated into consoles. Almost 30% of the graphics sold are console, this shows the importance for AMD of this segment.
Another very interesting data is that 52% of the graphics sent were high-end, with a market of almost 18.000 million dollars. The mid-range accounts for 31% and a market of more than 10.500 million dollars. Finally, the low-end accounts for 17% and revenues of just over 6.000 million dollars.
Currently the high-end market is largely dominated by NVIDIA. Where AMD stands out the most is in the mid-range market, where thanks to the RDNA architecture it has managed to obtain good results. The low-end also offers very good data thanks to the competitive prices.
This report highlights the importance of hardware for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which accounted for 29% of 2019 sales. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are expected to have some impact this year, but especially in 2021. Also The first Samsung SoCs with RDNA2021 for high-end smartphones should arrive in 2.
