Anno 1800 will become exclusive to the Epic Games Store upon release

It is announced by Ubisoft that the Anno 1800 game will become exclusive to the Epic Games Store after the official launch of the game.

The launch of the Epic Games Store by the developer Epic Games is not going unnoticed. First they stayed with the Metro Exodus and then with The Division 2, generating problems for Steam. Now Ubisoft has decided to offer the Anno 1800 game exclusively on the Epic digital store. It seems that the developers are betting on receiving 12% more revenue over Steam. Developers prefer this platform to Valve's, despite having millions of active users.

Anno 1800 will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store

Anno 1800 is just two weeks away and is available for pre-order on Steam. This Ubisoft knows and for now will continue to be available on Steam and can continue to buy. Of course, the game after this period will be exclusive to the Epic store, just like what happened with the Metro Exodus

A shower of negative ratings on Steam is expected for the game after this decision, including cancellation of game purchases. What users do not seem to understand is that developers earn 12% more per copy sold and this ends up favoring more and better content for the game. In addition, the competition forces Valve to move its ass, since it has been touching its nose for some years. Valve will have to move its ass if it wants to remain the leading store in the market.
