Bleeding Edge is the next game from the creators of Hellblade
Ninja Theory surprised us all with Hellblade a few years ago. Now they are with Bleeding Edge, their first game after being acquired by Microsoft Game Studios.
Last year Microsoft announced that they had acquired the Ninja Theory team to join the Microsoft Game Studios family of developers. The success they had with Hellblade made them gain cache, and in the recent Microsoft E3 conference announced their multiplayer title Bleeding Edge for Xbox One and Windows 10.
From singleplayer to multiplayer
During the conference we were able to see what that Bleeding Edge is like, from which some brand leaked before the conference. It will be an online multiplayer title in teams of four players, and it will not be exclusively a shooter but will also focus on close combat as in Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and DmC: Devil May Cry.
During the conference it was only possible to say that there will be an alpha that will begin on June 27, and that when the game is released it will be available on Xbox Game Pass. This alpha will be very important because it will impact the rest of the game with the feedback they will receive from the players.
This is an important title for the team, which went from having between ten and twenty people working on it three years ago when it began its development, to thirty workers focused on it. The melee mechanics will be based on DmC: Devil May Cry but they have had to lower the impact of them so that players are not stuck thirty seconds in a combo. But those who were expecting something more like Hellblade after reaping successes and awards after its launch, do not worry because Ninja Theory has more titles in development apart from this Blñeeding Edge.
