Blizzard has canceled a Starcraft FPS but will announce Diablo 4 and a new Overwatch

Activision Blizzard has canceled a first-person shooter based on the world of Starcraft after two years of work. Along with that, it has been leaked that they will announce at Blizzcon Diablo 4 and a new Overwatch.

This fall brings BlizzCon, Blizzard's private event where future titles are announced. The company has a fervent community of fans, making them one of the few who can have their own event and avoid E3 , which doesn't hurt their business.

Blizzard cancels another project, but will announce two this summer

Blizzcon will take place on November 1 and 2, and although there are five months left for it, it seems that some of the relevant announcements are beginning to be filtered. We hope there is content for the World of Warcraft communities, updates from Overwatch, and Hearthstone. We don't expect anything from Heroes of the Storm because they have that game pretty much abandoned.

Now comes the interesting thing, and that is, firstly, Blizzard has canceled a shooter based on the Starcraft universe in which they had been invested for two years of time. The information comes from Kotaku's Jason Schreier, who has contacted three different workers. In that canceled game we would have been able to control a Terran Marine shooting hordes of Zerd, and it was being developed with the Overwatch engine to speed up development time.

No developer was fired for this decision because they were derived to other projects, which will be the expected Diablo and a new Overwatch title. Both games would be announced at Blizzcon. The new Diablo is something to be expected, as Diablo III has had a very low community of players for a long time and the announcement of Diablo Immortal for mobile did not like the Blizzard faithful. On the other hand there is the new title of the Overwatch franchise, which would be a game with a strong emphasis on the PVE (player verus enviorment) that would be closer to Left 4 Dead instead of being a sequel itself. All of this comes from a leak made by Kotaku, so you have to take this information with a grain of salt and think that plans may change between now and Blizzard starting Blizzcon.
