Awesome Game Done Quick 2019 begins, the charity speedrunning marathon that will last a week
Like every January, the world of speedruns has its representation in Awesome Game Done Quick, which this edition will allocate the money raised to cancer research.
A whole week teaching how games can be passed in the fastest way possible, a show for players who can see how games that normally take tens or hundreds of hours can be surpassed by people specialized in sessions that sometimes do not reach the 40 minutes. That is what Games Done Quick brings us again with the celebration of AGDQ 2019.
The organization celebrates two annual editions, the winter one being the highest level, with larger guests and more desired games. During a week, without stopping the broadcast, several speedrunners from around the world meet in a hotel convention room to show how some games are passed in the fastest possible way, with the aim of obtaining donations for the investigation against the Cancer.
A week playing games too fast
From Sunday, January 7 to January 14, we will see several games being destroyed taking advantage of a mixture of inordinate skill and knowledge of bugs and game mechanics. In this edition there are some games that promise to be interesting to see how they beat, such as The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Portal, Super Ghouls' N Ghosts and even The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD at 100%, which are expected to it lasts about six hours.
Throughout the event, you can donate and compete for various prizes, incentives and bidding wars, such as the legendary "Save the Animals VS Kill the Animals" from Super Metroid, which, except for a few rare occasions, has been one of the highlights of almost every event, raising several hundred thousand dollars with this game alone.
