Diablo IV Early Access Starts With Connection Issues
Do you remember that when Diablo III It came out more than ten years ago, were there significant connection problems to play it at its launch? Blizzard said that they had learned from it, and that it would not be repeated for Diablo IV.
Now, Diablo 4 is almost here, and early access users can now play the game. Or at least it should, because it seems that the servers are having problems with the large number of players in the game.
Diablo IV repeats the launch problems of the III
According to various comments on social networks, early access to Diablo IV is not going well. Many users report various problems such as disconnections and long waiting times, due to the fact that the game requires a permanent connection, just like with Diablo III.
Previously, Blizzard claimed that Diablo IV would be ready for launch. The game also underwent multiple network tests to ensure that players had a smooth experience upon full release. A Reddit user had to wait 15 minutes before being able to play due to a connection issue. The Reddit user was able to access the game from another computer, but other users shared similar issues in the thread. Many of them were able to log in after rebooting, but other users haven't had the same luck.
The problems also extend to consoles. PS5 users claim have had license problems. Rurikhan shared a solution on Twitter that involved a separate download from PSN for users of PlayStation consoles.
To add salt to the wound, the early access period only available to consumers who have pre-ordered the more expensive versions Diablo IV. This includes the Deluxe and Ultimate editions. Connectivity issues have also raised questions about the full game. These issues are likely to become even more prevalent when thousands of users join the game on June 6 after full launch, or Blizzard hasn't activated enough servers for early access but does have for launch. It is hoped that Blizzard has already become aware of these issues, as all players can do is show up, call support, and hope the issues are fixed.
