Crackdown and its sequel are free on Xbox Live

Promoting Crackdown 3 by giving away the previous games. You can play them on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One thanks to backward compatibility.

Crackdown 3 has finally hit the market, five years after its original announcement and after several unexpected delays. In the absence of seeing how fate has brought it in terms of sales and criticism, the arrival of the game is good news for Xbox One players, but it is not the only one related to the series because Microsoft is giving away the original installments.

The first two free Crackdown

As an obvious promotional motive, Microsoft has made the two installments of Crackdown that originally appeared on Xbox 4360 free of charge. Once you claim them in the Xbox Live digital store, both on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, they will be yours forever. Plus, they both work flawlessly on Xbox One thanks to the backward compatibility that Microsoft is pushing so hard.

In this way, we can experience the Crackdown series without any commitment before deciding to buy Crackdown 3. For those who do not have an Xbox One but do have an Xbox 360, it will be a good opportunity to play these games and perhaps buy its successor. What else can we say? It is a gift that thousands of players will like and will discover one of the most covered titles from Microsoft.

Crackdown games took advantage of the ability of a console like Xbox 360 to capture a map full of details so that we can navigate without limits and cause destruction with many elements to interact with. It allowed the free exploration and the resolution of several objectives without any marked linearity beyond the difficulty, with which we can eliminate the enemies of the rival factions in the order we wanted. Defeating these great enemies greatly affects the presence of the factions that dominate the city we must save. Without a doubt, the first installment was way ahead of its time and is considered a classic that every Xbox 360 owner should play.
