Crysis Remastered with Ray Tracing on current consoles
The Crysis title developed by CryTek was once a true brutality of the game at the graphic level. Its very open areas, the quality of the details and the textures made the game highly recognized in the industry. Now Crysis Remastered wants to replicate to some extent what was achieved by the original game. CryTek just announced that Crysis Remastered will integrate Ray Tracing on current consoles.
Although it seems that it will only be on the subject of reflections, it is already something quite remarkable. Neither the Xbox One X nor the PlayStation 4 Pro have specific hardware that supports Ray tracing. This is supposed to already be on the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5, but CryTek wants to show that it can.

It's worth noting that Crytek has indicated that Crysis Remastered will feature ray tracing on the current generation of consoles . They haven't specifically mentioned Microsoft or Sony's consoles, so it's unclear whether it will be available on both or just one.
It seems that it focuses mainly on reflections, although in a fairly limited way. Some objects do appear to be reflected, while others do not appear reflected. We can see in a section of the video how a turret fires and the flashes are reflected in the water. What are not reflected are the projectiles. It seems that the reflections will be more for light bulbs and static objects than for dynamic objects. Nor is the fire reflected off a bridge or the lights from two train masts.
The improvements are limited, since both consoles give what they give. They did add a few effects to Crysis Remastered, but calling it Ray Tracing seems overkill. That part of the textures or light sources are not visible, indicates that it is some texture trick more than anything else.
This time CryTek has pulled more marketing than anything else, really. Yes, it is possible that on PC and next-generation consoles they really implement Ray Tracing.
