Leaked that CryTek is working on Crysis Remastered with Ray Tracing - UPDATED
A few days ago the official Crysis Twitter account, inactive since 2016, launched a tweet that indicated 'Receiving Data'. Logically this sparked a lot of rumors, about a possible Crysis 4 or a possible Crysis Remastered. CryTek at the moment has given official information, it has only been a preview to generate expectation. Now it has been leaked that they are preparing the Crysis Remastered.
This information is sure to delight users (like a server) since the original title was amazing. Everything suggests that the game will implement new textures, this time in 4K resolution and Ray Tracing technology. Everything indicates that the game will require quite advanced hardware to be able to enjoy it.
Crysis Remastered is on its way
Actually this game will not be a Remake, it will be a remastering on steroids, up to the high demands of the company. The original Crysis was released 13 years ago and even today there are Triple A titles that graphically fall far short. The new installment will have higher quality textures, being the logical thing to have 4K resolutions and Ray Tracing will be added and surely, DLSS 2.0. All thanks to the CryEngine graphics engine, one of the most powerful graphics engines on the market.

Those who played Crysis when it was released will remember that the game called for very advanced requirements. Graphics at the time could not run the game at 'Very High' due to the amount of VRAM required. Due to the high quality textures, a large amount of VRAM was required to load the textures. Back then the NVIDIA 8800 GTX had 768MB and was the graphics that offered the most VRAM. Today the graphics have more VRAM, but of course, if the textures happen to be in high resolution 4K, it could be that 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM is not enough.
Returning to Crysis Remastered, the game will be released on PC, like the original, but also also for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch.
