Death Stranding will arrive with integrated DLSS 2.0 technology

The graphical quality of video games has been increasing in recent years thanks to new technologies like ray tracing. NVIDIA is the driving force behind this technology, and to compensate for the performance drop-off inherent in ray tracing , it has developed DLSS 2.0. Death Stranding for PC will receive DLSS 2.0 support on July 14th, resulting in improved performance.

The game at a graphic level is highly demanding, as it cannot be otherwise. With DLSS 2.0 technology you can reach 1440p @ 100FPS or 4K @ 60FPS. The big downside is that for these resolutions we will need an NVIDIA RTX graphics, which do not come down in price.

Death Stranding will be compatible with NVIDIA DLSS 2.0

DLSS is based on a neural network that has been trained with tens of thousands of high resolution images. Images are rendered offline on a supercomputer at few frames per second and with 64 samples per pixel. Thanks to the hours of training carried out, the network is able to generate high resolution images from low resolution images.

For this additional rendering task we have the Tensor Cores in the Turing architecture. These specific cores offer up to 110 TFLOPs of dedicated power for Artificial Intelligence. Its application to videogames through this deep learning neural network improves graphic quality. Thus Death Stranding players will receive a graphical and performance improvement.

Death Stranding is a game that promises plenty of action and significant gameplay innovation. It's based on the Decima Engine and was developed by Guerrilla Games. Furthermore, it draws on the ideas of Hideo Kojima, whose reputation precedes it. We'll see if ray tracing is implemented in the future to further enhance the game's quality.
