DOOM Eternal will be able to reach a rate of 1000FPS, according to the developers
Resolution in modern games has a direct impact on the amount of frames per second. To play in 4K resolutions is a problem, because in many modern games reach 60-75FPS it is very difficult, almost impossible. You have to adjust thousand parameters and on many occasions it is impossible. But Id Software just announced that if we want (and we can) we can reach the 1000FPS in DOOM Eternal.
We do not know how many RTX 2080 Ti we would need in NVLink configuration to get to that FPS rate, but it wouldn't be few. Possibly with an RTX 2080 Ti and lowering the resolution to 144p we can reach 1000FPS, who knows. Joking aside, this is fine on a technical level, but for the average user it is silly.

With the id Tech 6, we maxed it out at 250 FPS. In DOOM Eternal we have reached a maximum of 1.000 FPS. You can get to that if you have the hardware. There's really no limit up there, Billy Khan told IGN, id Software's lead engine developer.
In the hardware we had built for the test, we had scenes running at 400 frames per second. So folks who have a 144Hz monitor or even the newer monitors that you will see come out that go even higher speed, in the future this game will hold out for many years to come and give you really incredible opportunities to take advantage of that hardware.
Speed is one of the most important things when playing a DOOM game, and that takes a lot of effort from all departments.
Billy Kahn, Lead Programmer of the Graphic Engine at id Software at a IGN interview
Many of us will find ourselves with a song in the teeth if we reach 120FPS in 4K resolution on PC. What is certain is that DOOM Eternal on console will be limited to 75-100FPS, being optimistic, for next generation consoles. In addition, the monitor with the highest refresh rate on the market is 280Hz and in 1080p resolution. It all comes down to marketing and hype, nothing more.
