Starfield has so much content that it can last more than 160 hours
Bethesda's passion for making games you can lose yourself in for hours, days, or even weeks is something that dates back to the early installments of The Elder Scrolls. Skyrim could keep a player engaged for over a hundred hours back in the day, and Starfield isn't going to be short on length either.
According to PC Gamer, Bethesda's head of publishing, Pete Hines, told IGN that he has played Starfield for between 150 and 160 hours . Hines added that he hasn't even come close to finishing it.
Starfield will be very long and it can last you months if you go for everything
Last year, game director Todd Howard said that Starfield's main story would last between 30 and 40 hours . According to new figures provided by Hines, Starfield's length will be significantly enhanced by the optional content players will be drawn into. With over 1.000 fully explorable planets, although only about a tenth of them will have anything resembling a civilization, it's no surprise that completionists will likely spend around 100 or even 200 hours playing the game.
Phil Spencer said yesterday that " it takes three or four hours to gain the freedom to explore the galaxy ." This isn't surprising, given that Bethesda games typically begin with closed-off areas to immerse the player in the story and reveal their role in the world, their possibilities, and their ambitions.
Starfield will be released on September 6th for PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Early access for those who purchased the Premium or Constellation editions begins on September 1st . Expect Twitch to be flooded with streams of the game, and social media to be rife with potential spoilers, so consider yourselves warned.
