EA implements microtransactions in Antem and basically explains how it will work
The Anthem title will have in-game microtransactions, but EA clarifies some aspects of in-game micro-payments.
One of the most anticipated games today is Anthem, a game on everyone's lips that will be distributed by Electronic Arts. It seems that the company has not learned all the problems they had in 2018. The company's loot boxes were harshly criticized by users and governments, some declaring them illegal. Mostly the problem was with Star Wars Battlefront II, which was the game that started the mess. Although EA is being scrutinized, they have decided to include microtransactions in Anthem
EA decided that Anthem have microtransactions
When Electronic Arts presents a new game, you no longer look at gameplay or graphics, you look directly at the payment system within the game. The company has now explained how the 'pay to win' will work within Anthem. They have implemented two types of tokens within the game to obtain different cosmetic items. The first is 'Coins', a typical coin within games that is only achieved by playing. The second is 'Shards', a coin that can only be obtained by buying.
Shards can only be purchased with fiduciary money, such as dollars or euros. We can buy an item with one currency or the other, it will not be necessary to spend both to buy a specific cosmetic item.
EA has been forced to make this point very specific. Initially, the company said that to acquire the different cosmetic items, both currencies would be needed. It appears that the company has backed down at this point and only one of the two coins will be needed.
The rain of criticism past, present and future, is forcing the company to pick up cable. Battlefield V has been the focus of significant criticism and Electronic Arts' disdain for users has not come for free.
