Hollow Knight Physical Edition Canceled

Many of us were waiting for the physical edition of Hollow Knight, Team Cherry's incredible Metroidvania, unfortunately, they confirm that it has been canceled.

Team Cherry made a deal with Skybound Games to release Hollow Knight on disc, but both parties seem to have walked away from the idea. Skybound has tweeted to say that they would no longer be working with Team Cherry on the physical edition of Hollow Knight.

Apparently then Team Cherry showed up to tell us that getting their well-received Metroidvania to store shelves was too much work for such a small team.

"As a three-person team still in intensive production on Hollow Knight, bringing the game into the commercial space (even with help from Skybound) proved to be more work than we could reasonably handle," the statement reads.

«In the future we will be investigating other ways to deliver physical versions of Hollow Knight, though these will likely be in smaller quantities.

“We would like to thank Skybound for the incredible opportunity they provided us with, and for their professionalism and enthusiasm throughout the entire process.”

Cherry's team just released Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which includes the entire game and all expansion content. It was released first for the PC in February 2017, then for the Nintendo Switch in June 2018, and has sold more than a million copies on all platforms combined.

So for those of us who were looking forward to it or if there was someone who had not bought the digital to get the physics, we recommend that you play it, total there is nothing left to wait for, hopefully that is only for now .

I am interested in being a stylized 3D modeler. With that touch that Blizzard or DarkSiders have. I really want to learn more every day and never stop improving.
