F1 2019 is used to compare AMD FidelityFX and NVIDIA DLSS

They make a comparison of AMD FidelityFX and NVIDIA DLSS under the F1 2019 game, where it is seen that with DLSS the game suffers a loss of graphic quality.

Developers are increasingly looking to improve the graphics quality of games, but this has costs. RayTracing has a great cost in FPS, causing a sharp drop in these. NVIDIA to correct this has created DLSS, which allows to improve the FPS rate through Artificial Intelligence. Codemasters in F1.07 1 update v2019 implements NVIDIA DLSS and also the new AMD FidelityFX technology.

Not surprisingly, FidelityFX works only on Radeon graphics and DLSS works exclusively on RTX. AMD's solution improves the appearance of games with little impact on game performance. DLSS is a technology above all that seeks to reduce the impact on the frame rate.

F1 2019 adds AMD FidelityFX and NVIDIA DLSS technologies

A comparison has been made between the two technologies and the DLSS does not go well. The problem is that DLSS does an AI scaling and that causes a loss of definition with respect to the AMD solution. Above all, elements of the environment that are off the track and more distant vehicles, which are blurred with NVIDIA DLSS, lose in sharpness.

AMD FidelityFX offers us better graphic quality with an average loss of 2FPS with the TAA filter active. NVIDIA DLSS under an RTX 2060 increases the rate by approximately 17FPS, but paying in graphics quality. The environment looks quite blurry and the steering wheel display also loses graphic quality. A quality problem that NVIDIA has been trying to correct for a long time.

Notably, the F1 2019 with a Ryzen 5 1600 combined with an RTX 2060 moves above 100FPS in Ultra quality. It makes little sense to activate DLSS in this game, especially if we are not going to use RayTracing.
